Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an Onsite Middle School Guidance Counselor to provide support to general education students during a maternity leave assignment from January 12, 2026, to June 5, 2026. This role is based in Forest Lake, MN, serving a middle school setting with a focus on student guidance and counseling.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing individual and group counseling services to middle school students
- Assisting students in academic planning, personal development, and social-emotional growth
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and administration to support student success
- Addressing behavioral concerns and developing intervention strategies
- Maintaining confidential student records and documentation
- Participating in team meetings and professional development activities
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid General Education School Counselor License is required
- Prior experience working as a school counselor, preferably in a middle school environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and staff
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and handle sensitive student issues with professionalism
- Knowledge of counseling techniques, adolescent development, and educational policies

- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:15 am to 3:15 pm (37.5 hours/week)
